Damaris Hayman is an actress best known for character roles in various television programmes. She was educated at Cheltenham Ladies' College.
After repertory work in the theatre, Hayman made her film debut in The Belles of St Trinian's (1954) in an uncredited role. She remains best known for her role in the Doctor Who serial The Daemons as Miss Hawthorne, the self proclaimed White Witch.
She was also briefly popular (about 1980) for a television commercial for Cockburn's Port, in which she delivered the memorable line "Has anyone seen the petits fours?") when drifting in a lifeboat with other shipwreck survivors. |
