This was Frankie's first No.1, helped to go the top in no small part by Radio One Breakfast Show DJ of the time, Mike Read deciding that it was "disgusting", removing it from the turntable, live on air. Two days later, almost three months after the single's initial release, and just eight days after the group's Top Of The Pops appearance, the BBC banned the record! Of course, it went straight to No 1 after that!
